It has been a long wait, butย Chiel de Witย is back with his short insights that will help all who suffer fouling to move on and better protect their vessels.
๐๐ฑ๐๐ฎ๐ป๐ฐ๐ฒ๐ฑ ๐ฑ๐ฎ๐๐ฎ ๐๐๐๐๐ฒ๐บ๐?ย All these dip switches, options to instruct a system at distance, over the internet, AI managed systems.... We hear all these ambitious promises on the market.ย Shipsonicย avoids most of them. We have spoken to so many superintendents and engineers. They all want one thing: the system to work and just one signal if it doesn't work.ย
Shipsonic offers a 'walk by' indicator on the door of our control units. It is either steady green, then system works fine. In rare cases, the indicator flashes red. Then there is something wrong, the engineer should open the door and read on the video-screen inside, which transducer or powerboard needs attention.ย
One question to our audience (the first correct answer can win a bottle of wine offered at SMM Hamburg): one senior Polish superintendent advised for the walk-by indicator to have a flashing feature when red. Why is that important for male crew?
