Shipsonic attended the FOWT 2026 as part of Maritime & Offshore NL stand. We learned: โข The floating wind energy is still in its early stage, with few installations operational and still a lot of design, development and testing ongoing. โข Some of the floaters are built in concrete (making them unsuitable for our ultrasonic anti-fouling) but the majority continues to be built in metal. โข There are, however, numerous other aspects of the floating wind where fouling is a clea

Last week our demo model transducer on curved surfaces (a pipe) with specific radius went with Siv Stรธve Syversen to Asia Pacific Maritime (APM) expo 2026. Shipsonic has developed a wonderful demo model showing how our transducers can be placed on curved surfaces, how our patent-protected mounting works and looks. This demo we have started to send to each of our agents, who in their turn take it to trade shows, conferences, and meetings with clients. Here are our first photos, me picking up the 'babies' from Dethon and at the FOWT Conference in Montpellier together with Eric C. Next location will be Singapore, watch this space.

Shipsonic is excited to be part of FOWT 2026, 24-26 March. This huge conference on floating offshore wind is giving us many interesting discussions, meeting with designers of floaters, people sharing how mooring cables suffer from fouling, and fouling affecting monitoring buoys โ just to name a few. Box coolers can efficiently cool engines on vessels using only a limited space. But one drawback is that box coolers suffer heavily from fouling and can normally not be cleaned without docking the vessel. Standard box-cooler protection against fouling is copper based. In this brochureย Shipsonic ย gives a cost comparison between USAF (ultrasonic anti-fouling) and ICAF (impressed current anti-fouling). USAF is often perceived as more costly. However, if you consider the life-time of Shipsonicโs USAF systems, they work out much more economical. Of course, there are many other reasons to prefer Shipsonicโs USAF: no through hull wiring, no risk of galvanic corrosion. And last but not least; USAF is poison free and forgoes substantial pollution
