Microphone holder for sound pressure meter

Shipsonic frequently develops new instruments to test and ultimately improve its own equipment. An example is this microphone holder for our sound pressure meter, the Shipsonic UltraTesterDSP1.4. It is a steel holder that fits the microphone of the UltraTester precisely and is filled with a special liquid. The strong magnet at the bottom of the holder pulls it against the surface to be tested, even in hard-to-reach places. This provides a very accurate and reliable reading of the sound pressure level (SPL), valuable information for the further development of our product. This holder was developed during a joined research with the LUT University of Finland.
