It is all about the OOMPF, the racket these transducers (also referred to as 'transponders') make. The more (ultrasonic) decibels you can bring into a seawater exposed surface, the more it vibrates and the better we can prevent biofilm and if there is no biofilm subsequently you cannot have mussel/barnacle/tubewurm infestations. Due to years of painstaking research Shipsonic has worked out the factors that make ultrasonic sound an effective anti-fouling. Listen to Chiel de Wit to know the reason why powerful transducers are more effective.
