PROCYON (IMO 9496965) is a pilot vessel built in 2014 and registered under the flag of the Netherlands. The vessel has an overall length of 81.20 m, a beam of 13.30 m, a gross tonnage of 2,501, and a deadweight of 914 tonnes. The vessel is equipped with box coolers protected by a Shipsonic ultrasonic antifouling system.
The system consists of 4 control units and 38 ultrasonic transducers (19 × 80 W / IP67 and 19 × 100 W / IP67), with 18 transducers on the port side and 20 on the starboard side. The control units were visually inspected, including the cooling fans, PCB fuses, power switch LEDs, and transducer signal LEDs, while the signal output to each individual transducer was also verified.
Each transducer was inspected for the welding ring, installation condition, and cable connections before being activated individually to verify its audible operating signal. Ultrasonic Sound Pressure Level (SPL) measurements were subsequently taken in the substrate of each box cooler using the Shipsonic Ultratester 1.3 with a Reson TC 4013 ultrasonic microphone.
Following completion of the inspection, functional checks, and SPL measurements, the Shipsonic USAF system onboard PROCYON was confirmed to be fully functional and ready for operation.
